the backstory

we first met in spring 2022 at our mutual friend molly’s birthday party in Brooklyn. we didn’t see each other again until her Halloween party, then again at her next birthday party, before deciding we should see each other more than twice a year.

summer 2023 was filled with lots of dates - breweries, rooftop bars, citibikes, and parks - but also busy with separate travel. come fall, we both knew this was something special and brought each other home that holiday season, where we hit it off with our families right away.

on November 8 2025, we took advantage of an unseasonably warm day by doing one of our favorite things - grabbing some sandwiches and beer from around the corner and enjoying them up on our roof. haggai wore a jacket belonging to Monika’s late grandfather when he proposed with his grandmother’s ring.

we’ve built our life together in new york, but Haggai’s louisiana roots meant a celebration down south was an easy choice. we are so thrilled to host our wedding in new orleans and share the city - and the party - with all of our favorite people.
